Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection

1. Inspect low speed motor operation as follows:
a. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector.
b. Connect positive battery lead to terminal 2 and negative to motor body, Fig. 31.
c. Ensure motor operates at low speed.
2. Inspect high speed motor operation as follows:
a. Connect positive battery lead to terminal 1 and negative to motor body.
b. Ensure motor operates at high speed.
3. Inspect motor operation, stopping at stop position, as follows:
a. Operate motor at low speed.
b. Disconnect terminal 2 to stop motor operation.
c. Connect terminals 2 and 3.
d. Connect battery positive lead to terminal 4.
e. Ensure motor stops running in Off position after motor operates again.
4. If motor operation is not as indicated, replace motor.
