No.1 Vehicle Speed Sensor Assembly

REPLACEMENT
1. Support transmission with jack.





2. Remove rear support member. Remove the four nuts, bolts and support member.
3. Remove transmission mounting bracket. Remove the four bolts and mounting bracket form the transmission.
4. Disconnect No.1 vehicle speed sensor connector.
5. Remove No.1 vehicle speed sensor assembly, as follows:





a. Remove the bolt and No.1 vehicle speed sensor assembly.
b. Remove the speedometer driven gear and O-ring from the No.1 vehicle speed sensor.
6. Install No.1 vehicle speed sensor assembly, as follows:
a. Coat a new O-ring with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
b. Install the O-ring and speedometer driven gear to the No.1 vehicle speed sensor.
c. Install the No.1 vehicle speed sensor assembly to the extension housing right hand (RH) side and torque the bolt.
Torque: 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect No.1 vehicle speed sensor connector.
8. Install transmission mounting bracket. Install the mounting bracket with the four bolts to the transmission.
Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
9. Install rear support member, as follows:
a. Install the rear support member with the four bolts.
Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
b. Install the four nuts.
Torque: 13 Nm (108 inch lbs.).
