Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT





1. Remove front exhaust pipe and left hand (LH) side catalytic converter.
2. Remove LH side heat insulator.
3. Disconnect speed sensor connector.
4. Remove Overdrive (O/D) direct clutch speed sensor, as follows:
a. Remove the bolt and O/D direct clutch speed sensor.
b. Remove the O-ring from it.
5. Install O/D direct clutch speed sensor, as follows:
a. Coat a new O-ring with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and install it to the speed sensor.
b. Install the speed sensor and torque the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (48 inch.lbs.).
6. Connect speed sensor connector.
7. Install LH side heat insulator.
8. Install LH side catalytic converter and front exhaust pipe.
