Torque Specifications






Apply a light coat of engine oil on the threads and under the heads of the main bearing cap bolts.
Using the pattern shown in illustration, tighten the main bearing cap bolts in several passes to 44 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
Then turn each bolt in pattern shown an additional 90°.

NOTE:
- If any one of the main bearing cap bolts does not meet the torque specification, replace the main bearing bolt.





- Use the pattern shown in the illustration when loosening the main bearing cap bolts.





- Ensure main bearing caps are installed in numerical order with arrows facing forward as shown in the illustration.
- Check that the crankshaft turns smoothly.
