Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT
1. Remove front exhaust pipe.
2. Disconnect [1][2]park/neutral position switch connector.
3. Remove [1][2]park/neutral position switch.





a. Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever.
b. Pry off the lock washer and remove the nut.
c. Remove the bolt and pull out the [1][2]park/neutral position switch.
4. Install and adjust [1][2]park/neutral position switch.





a. Loosen the [1][2]park/neutral position switch bolt and set the shift lever to the N position.
b. Align the groove and neutral basic line.
c. Hold in position and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 12 Nm (108 inch lbs.)
5. Connect [1][2]park/neutral position switch connector.
6. Install front exhaust pipe.
