Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

ON-VEHICLE REPAIR
1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE





2. DISCONNECT [1][2]PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR
3. REMOVE [1][2]PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
a. Remove the nut and disconnect the control shaft lever.





b. Pry off the nut stopper.
c. Remove the nut and lock washer.





d. Remove the bolt and [1][2]park/neutral position switch.
4. INSTALL [1][2]PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
a. Install the park/neutral position switch with the bolt.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)





b. Install the nut and a new lock washer.

Torque: 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.)

c. Stake the nut with the lock washer.





d. Connect the control shaft lever with the nut.

Torque: 16 Nm (160 kgf-cm, 12 ft. lbs.)

5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE
