Introduction
A repair procedure has been established to prevent cassette tape interference with the plastic sheet attached to the inside of the Center Cluster Integration Switch Assembly when it is inserted into the cassette player.

Applicable Warranty*:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure




1. Remove the center Cluster Integration Switch Assembly. Refer to the 1999 RX 300 Repair Manual, for detailed removal procedures.





2. Remove the four screws and the plastic sheet from the Center Integration Switch Assembly Panel.





3. Cut two (2) notches in the plastic sheet below the cassette door opening to the dimensions shown in the diagram.

4. Reassemble the plastic to the Center Integration Switch Assembly and reinstall in the reverse order.
