Introduction

To reduce noise and vibration at idle speeds, a dynamic damper has been added to the center exhaust pipe for both 4WD and 2WD models.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

APPLICABLE WARRANTY*:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.





REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Assemble the Damper (17581-46060) to the Center Pipe Assembly (17420-20130) using 2 bolts (91651-60830).

Torque: 14 ft.lbs. (19 Nm, 195 KgF-cm)

NOTE:
Some early RX 300 models already have the new center pipe installed. If the center pipe has a bracket for the damper, only install the damper. If not, continue to procedure 2.

2. Replace Center Exhaust Pipe Assembly (Refer to Repair Manual for procedure).

Torque:
Fr./Rr. Pipes 46 ft.lbs. (62 Nm, 630 KgF-Cm)
02 Sensor 31 ft.lbs. (44 Nm, 440 KgF-Cm)
