Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTIONINSPECT IGNITION COILS
a. Remove the ignition coil assembly.
b. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals.
Primary coil resistance
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.
c. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) and high-tension terminals.
Secondary coil resistance
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.
d. Reinstall the ignition coil assembly.
