Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

Engine Control Module (ECM):






REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ECU COVER
2. DISCONNECT 5 CONNECTORS

3. REMOVE ECM
Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.

4. REMOVE GASKET




a. Peel off the sponge part of the gasket.




b. Spray the gasket remover or equivalent on the remaining tape of the gasket.

NOTE: When using the gasket remover or equivalent, cover the ECM connector with waste cloth, etc.




c. Use the cutter knife, etc. to remove the tape of the gasket.

NOTE: Be careful not to make any flaws on the ECM's seal surface to the gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL GASKET
a. Clean the ECM's seal surface to the gasket with non-residue solvent.
b. Attach the gasket on the ECM.

2. INSTALL ECM
Install the ECM with 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

3. CONNECT 5 CONNECTORS
4. INSTALL ECU COVER
