Introduction
If an owner pauses while turning the ignition key and the ignition switch is between the ACC position and the ON position (IG1 is ON and IG2 is OFF), the Lexus Link ECU will start up but the SRS system will not have power. The Lexus Link system receives its start-up signal from IG1 and the SRS system receives its power supply from IG2. The Lexus Link ECU will assume that there is a fault in the connection between the Lexus Link ECU and the SRS system and the Lexus Link ECU will announce: "A Lexus Link system error has been detected." Also, an automatic emergency call or service call may be made to the Lexus Link call center. To address this issue, an additional wiring harness has been developed.
