To improve back door opening effort and feel, the following field fix procedure has been developed.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2003 - 2004 model year GX 470 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Replace the back door lock assembly. Refer to ETAS, 2003 or 2004 model year GX 470 Repair Manual: Engine Hood/Door; Back Door; Overhaul.
PART IDENTIFICATION:
Although the part number remains unchanged, new parts can be identified by either of the following:
- The letter "N" next to the UPC code on the box.
- The stamped date code on the part of "4G20" (July 20, 2004) or later.
