Accumulator: Service and Repair

PNEUMATIC W/TUBE TANK ASSY
REPLACEMENT

NOTICE: Before replacement, press the height control OFF switch to stop the vehicle height control operation.

1. REMOVE PNEUMATIC W/TUBE TANK ASSY





a. Jack or lift the vehicle up.
b. Remove the 4 clamps.
c. Disconnect the height control tube No. 1 and the wire harness from the pneumatic w/ tube tank assy.





d. Remove the 3 clips and height control tank cover.
e. Disconnect the connector.





f. Using SST, disconnect the tube from the pneumatic w/tube tank assy.

HINT: For the removal procedure of the (type 2) tube, refer to Service Precautions; Vehicle Damage Warnings.





g. Remove the 3 bolts and the pneumatic w/ tube tank assy.
2. INSTALL PNEUMATIC W/TUBE TANK ASSY





a. Align the matchmark holes on the pneumatic w/ tube tank assy with the proper positions, and install it to the body with 3 bolts.
Torque: 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
b. Coat 2 new O-rings and a new plate with MP grease.
c. Install the 2 O-rings and the plate onto the height control tube No.2.

HINT:
^ For the removal procedure of the (type 2) tube, refer to Service Precautions; Vehicle Damage Warnings.
^ When the pneumatic w/ tube tank assy is replaced with new one, it does not require a new O-ring.





d. Connect a tube and a connector to the pneumatic w/ tube tank assy.





e. Install the height control tank cover with the 3 clips.





f. Install the 4 clamps.

1. DISPOSE OF PNEUMATIC W/TUBE TANK ASSY
a. Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder as shown in the illustration to discharge the air inside.

CAUTION: When drilling, chips may fly out, work carefully.
