Introduction
Some 2005 model year GX 470 vehicles may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTC P0456, EVAP Emission Control System. Follow the steps in this bulletin to correct this condition.
NOTE:
This TSIB only applies to vehicles exhibiting M.I.L. "ON" DTC P0456.

Warranty Information
Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Emission Component Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Required SSTs
Repair Procedure
1. Using the Diagnostic Tester, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
If DTC P0456 is present, check for an EVAP leak at the charcoal canister.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2005 model year GX 470 Repair Manual: Diagnostics: SF1 System (2UZ-FE): EVAP Inspection Procedure.
If no leak is detected at the charcoal canister, this TSIB does not apply.
2. To correct a leak at the charcoal canister, replace the charcoal canister according to the 2005 model year GX 470 Repair Manual charcoal canister replacement procedure. Refer to TIS, 2005 model year GX 470 Repair Manual: Emission Control:
