REPLACEMENT




1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT: The bolts, screws and nuts, necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel, are shown in the illustration with alphabet code.

2. PRECAUTION
3. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL




4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.




5. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER FRONT
a. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the console panel upper front.




6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER
a. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower, then disconnect the connectors.

7. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (W/O LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
9. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
10. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
11. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
12. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
13. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)

14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
15. REMOVE TILT & TELESCOPIC SWITCH (TILT & TELESCOPIC STEERING)
16. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
17. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
18. REMOVE HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH




21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER
a. Remove the bolt and the screw .
b. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.
c. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the 4 clips and the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly lower.
d. Disconnect the connectors.




22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.




23. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws .
b. Pull out the combination meter assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
26. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH




27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Disengage the 3 claws, pull the instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No.2 in the arrow direction, and remove it.




28. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 screws .
b. Pull the glove compartment door assembly to the rear to remove it.
c. Disconnect the connector.




29. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH
a. Remove the 2 clips from the floor carpet cover center LH.
b. Depress the edge of the floor carpet cover center LH around the claws to disengage the 2 claws below the floor carpet cover center LH.
c. Slide the floor carpet cover center LH to the front of the vehicle, disengage the 2 claws from the instrument panel finish panel lower center at the floor carpet cover center LH.
d. Remove the floor carpet cover center LH.

30. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH




31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER
a. Remove the 7 screws .
b. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower center.

32. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
33. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE




35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Remove the screw and nut .
b. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws on the body from inside of the register.
c. Remove the instrument panel register assembly No.1.




36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1
a. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws and on the body from inside of the register.
b. Disengage the clip and remove the instrument panel register assembly lower No.1.




37. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolts and nuts as shown in the illustration below.
b. Disconnect each of the clamps and the connectors.
c. Pull the instrument panel safety pad to the rear and check that none of the wire harness is stuck in the body.




38. REMOVE SPEAKER HOLE COVER NO.1 (W/ MARK LEVINSON SPEAKER SYSTEM)
a. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the speaker hole cover No.1.




39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly No.1.

40. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
41. REMOVE FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (W/ MARK LEVINSON SPEAKER SYSTEM)
42. REMOVE FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
43. REMOVE FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY




44. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.3
a. Remove the screw and the side defroster nozzle duct No.3.

45. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.4




46. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws and the defroster nozzle assembly.




47. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.1
a. Remove the 4 screws and the heater to register duct No.1.

48. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.4




49. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER CENTER SUB DUCT
a. Remove the 2 screws and the heater to register center sub duct.




50. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.1
a. Remove the screw and the side defroster nozzle duct No.1.

51. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.2
52. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE NO.1
53. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE NO.2




54. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
a. Remove the screw and the network gateway ECU.




55. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Remove the screw and the instrument panel bracket sub-assembly center.

56. REMOVE GLOVE BOX LAMP ASSEMBLY
57. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA (W/ LEXUS LINK SYSTEM)
58. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY




59. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE NO.2
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Release the 18 clamps and remove the instrument panel wire No.2.

60. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
61. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH NO.1
62. REMOVE INSTR PNL PASS L/DOOR AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
63. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
64. INSTALL INSTR PNL PASS L/DOOR AIR BAG ASSEMBLY




65. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
a. Using a torque wrench, install the bolt .

Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

b. Install the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with the bolts and nuts.

66. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
67. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
68. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
69. INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
70. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
