Memory Switch Circuit
MEMORY SWITCH CIRCUITCIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The seat memory switch signals the position control ECU to memorize a given seat position via the power window regulator master switch. This memory system does not use a position sensor. The seat position is detected by counting pulses that are output when the motor turns. If no there is no pulse output from the motor, the motor will stop operating. The seat memory switch is later used to signal the position control ECU to return to one of the memorized positions.
HINT: The front power seat control system is part of the large-scale body multiplex system. This system features shared communication wiring that reduces the wiring complexity of the communication lines. The first step in any repair is to confirm the proper operation of the communication system. Proceed with troubleshooting after the communication has been verified (See Multiplex Communication System).
