Oil Pump Seal Replacement
OIL PUMP SEALREPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH
2. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH
3. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH
4. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTER
7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (W/ ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY)
8. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1
9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH
10. REMOVE V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT NO.1
11. REMOVE VANE PUMP V BELT
12. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD
13. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING STAY NO.2 RH
14. REMOVE GENERATOR BRACKET NO.2
15. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
SST 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021, 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05031)
16. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO.1 COVER
17. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO.2 COVER
18. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
19. REMOVE TIMING BELT GUIDE NO.2
20. REMOVE TIMING BELT
21. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY
a. Remove the bolt and the timing belt plate
b. Install the pulley bolt to the crankshaft.
c. Using SST, remove the crankshaft timing pulley
SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05011)
NOTICE:
^ Do not scratch the sensor part of the crankshaft timing pulley.
^ Before using SST, apply lubricating oil on the threads and tip of the center bolt 150.
22. REMOVE OIL PUMP SEAL
a. Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip
b. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped in tape, pry out the oil seal.
NOTICE: After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 40 grit sandpaper.
23. INSTALL OIL PUMP SEAL
a. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.
NOTICE: Keep the lip free of foreign objects.
b. Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal until its surface is flush with the oil pump edge.
SST 09223-00010
NOTICE:
^ Be careful not to tap the oil seal at an angle.
^ Wipe off extra grease on the crankshaft.
24. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY
a. Align the keyway of the pulley with the key located on the crankshaft and slide the pulley into place.
NOTICE: Do not scratch the sensor area of the crankshaft timing pulley.
b. Install the timing belt plate with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)
25. INSPECT TIMING BELT
26. INSTALL TIMING BELT
SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)
27. INSTALL CHAIN TENSIONER ASSEMBLY NO.1
28. INSTALL TIMING BELT GUIDE NO.2
29. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
30. INSTALL TIMING BELT NO.2 COVER
31. INSTALL TIMING BELT NO.1 COVER
32. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
SST 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021
33. INSTALL GENERATOR BRACKET NO.2
34. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING STAY NO.2 RH
35. INSTALL ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD
36. INSTALL VANE PUMP V BELT
37. INSTALL V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT NO.1
38. INSPECT DRIVE BELT DEFLECTION AND TENSION (REFERENCE)
39. INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTER
40. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
41. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM LH
42. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM RH
43. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
44. CHECK FOR ENGINE OIL LEAKS
