Windshield Wiper Motor Assy
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLYREPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH
a. Remove the nut and the front wiper arm LH.
2. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH
a. Remove the 2 nuts and the front wiper arm RH.
3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
a. Disengage the clamp.
b. Remove the front fender to cowl side seal RH.
4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 clips, and disengage the clamp and the 6 claws.
b. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
6. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR & LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 5 bolts and the windshield wiper motor & link assembly.
7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the meshing of the rod at the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.
b. Remove the nut and washer.
c. Put the matchmarks on the crank arm assembly and windshield wiper motor assembly.
d. Remove the 3 bolts and windshield wiper motor assembly from the windshield wiper link assembly.
8. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.
b. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
c. Align the matchmarks on the crank arm assembly and windshield wiper motor assembly, then install the washer and nut.
Torque: 17 Nm (175 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
9. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR & LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the windshield wiper link assembly with the 5 bolts.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector.
10. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM LH
a. Scrape off the serration part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
b. Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.
c. Install the front wiper arm LH with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 24 Nm (245 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
HINT: Hold down the arm hinge by hand in order to fasten the nut.
11. INSTALL FR WIPER ARM RH
a. Scrape off the serrated part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
b. Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.
c. Install the front wiper arm RH with the 2 nuts in the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 24 Nm (245 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
HINT: Hold down the arm hinge by hand in order to fasten the nut.
d. Operate the wiper while running water or washer fluid over the window, and check the wiping condition and that the front wiper does not scrape against the body.
