Heating and Air Conditioning: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination)
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Illumination)
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
5. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT
10. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the screw and air conditioning amplifier assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY




a. Install the air conditioning amplifier with the screw and connect the connector.

2. INSTALL NO.2 AIR DUCT




a. Install the No. 2 air duct and screw.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

3. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination)
9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Illumination)
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal

12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
