Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
4. REMOVE DRIVE BELT




5. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE AND SUCTION HOSES
a. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both discharge and suction hoses.

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT LH
a. Remove the front drive shaft.

7. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.




b. Remove the 3 bolts and compressor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the compressor with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 49 N.m (500 kgf.cm, 36 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT LH
a. Install the drive shaft.

3. CONNECT DISCHARGE AND SUCTION HOSES
a. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to new O-rings and the fitting surface of the hoses.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent




b. Connect the both suction hoses with the 2 bolts.

NOTE: Hose should be connected immediately after the caps have been removed.

4. INSTALL DRIVE BELT
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

7. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
8. WARM UP ENGINE
9. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
