Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE DRIVE BELT
3. REMOVE FLUID COUPLING ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the fan shroud.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the fan shroud from the radiator.
c. Remove the 4 nuts and disconnect the fan with fluid coupling from the vehicle at the same time.

4. DISCONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the generator connector.
b. Remove the terminal cap and nut, and disconnect the generator wire.
c. Disconnect the generator wire clamp from the cord clip on the generator.
d. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and generator.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the generator with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Torque:
39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) for bolt
39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) for nut (A)
16 N.m (163 kgf.cm, 12 ft.lbf) for nut (B)

b. Connect the generator connector.
c. Connect the generator wire with the nut and terminal cap.

Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 86 in.lbf)

d. Install the generator wire clamp to the cord clip on the generator.

2. INSTALL VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FLUID COUPLING ASSEMBLY
a. Put the fan with fluid coupling and fan shroud into the engine room at the same time.
b. Install the fan shroud with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

c. Install the fan with fluid coupling with the 4 nuts.

Torque: 29 N.m (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf)

4. INSTALL DRIVE BELT
5. CONNECT CABLE TO BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
