Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

SPEED SENSOR

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR





a. Remove the transmission revolution sensor (NT sensor).
1. Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
2. Remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor.
3. Remove the O-ring from the transmission revolution sensor.





b. Remove the transmission revolution sensor (SP2 sensor).
1. Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
2. Remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor.
3. Remove the O-ring from the transmission revolution sensor.

INSPECTION
1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
a. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard resistance: 560 to 680 Ohms (20°C)

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR





a. Install the transmission revolution sensor (SP2 sensor).
1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission revolution sensor.
2. Install the transmission revolution sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
3. Connect the transmission revolution sensor connector.





b. Install the transmission revolution sensor (NT sensor).
1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission revolution sensor.
2. Install the transmission revolution sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
3. Connect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
