Headlamp Alignment Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION




1. INSPECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 3.




c. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

d. Remove the height control sensor.




2. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 3.




c. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
