Seat Temperature Switch: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY





a. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.





HINT: As the dial is being turned, the resistance changes gradually.

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

b. Measure the voltage between the terminals when the switch is operated.

HINT: As the circuit has a diode, perform the measurement with the tester in diode mode.





If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.





c. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.





HINT: As the dial is being turned, the resistance changes gradually.

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

d. Measure the voltage between the terminals when the switch is operated.

HINT: As the circuit has a diode, perform the measurement with the tester in diode mode.





If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

e. Check that the seat heater switch illuminates.





If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.
