Drive Belt: Service and Repair

DRIVE BELT

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUBASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
4. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE





5. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT
(a) Rotate the tensioner pulley counterclockwise to loosen the belt tension.

HINT: The pulley bolt for the belt tensioner has a left-handed thread.





(1) While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align the holes. Insert a bar of Diameter 5 mm (0.20 in.) into the holes to fix the belt tensioner in place.
(b) Remove the V belt.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
(a) Install the V belt as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE: Check that the drive belt is properly set to each pulley.

(1) Rotate the tensioner pulley counterclockwise, and then remove the fix bar.

2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUBASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
