Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION
2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
a. Discharge fuel system pressure.

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
a. Remove the intake manifold.

5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the engine cover from the engine.

6. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the fuel pressure sensor and gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR
a. Install a new gasket to the fuel pressure sensor.




b. Using SST, install the fuel pressure sensor to the No.1 delivery pipe.

SST 09922-10010

Torque:
without SST
44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
with SST
40 N.m (409 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

NOTE:
- Do not apply oil to threads of the pressure sensor and delivery pipe.
- Do not allow foreign matter to enter the pipe during the installation.

HINT:
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in).
- Make sure SST and wrench are connected in a straight line.




c. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL NO.2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Install the engine cover to the engine.

3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD
a. Install the intake manifold.

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
7. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
8. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS
