Removal and Replacement
Mayday ECU:
MAYDAY ECU
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR RADIO CONTROL PANEL
5. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE MAYDAY ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the Mayday assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL MAYDAY ASSEMBLY
a. Install the Mayday assembly.
b. Install the 3 bolts and connect the connectors.
2. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL REAR RADIO CONTROL PANEL
4. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization. Testing and Inspection
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
8. PERFORM REGISTRATION
a. Perform registration. Testing and Inspection
HINT: When replacing the Mayday battery or the Mayday ECU assembly (together with Mayday battery), perform registration.
9. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
