Front Cooling Unit

DISASSEMBLY




1. REMOVE EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector clamp.
b. Remove the 8 screws and No. 1 cooler cover.
c. Remove the evaporator.
d. Remove the air refiner filter.




2. REMOVE EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor from the evaporator.




3. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
a. Remove the grommet.
b. Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts and remove the expansion valve and tube from the evaporator.

NOTE: Cover the opening of the disconnected parts to prevent them from entering moisture or dirt.

c. Remove the 4 O-rings from the tube and expansion valve.

4. REMOVE DRAIN HOSE

REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL DRAIN HOSE




2. INSTALL COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
a. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 4 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the tube and expansion valve.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

b. Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, install the cooler expansion valve with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 3.5 N.m (35 kgf.cm, 30 in.lbf)

c. Install the grommet.




3. INSTALL EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Install the evaporator temperature sensor.




4. INSTALL EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the air refiner filter.
b. Install the evaporator.

HINT: When installing a new evaporator, add compressor oil to the evaporator.

Add oil amount: 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the No. 1 cooler cover with the 8 screws.
d. Connect the connector clamp.
