Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

SPEED SENSOR

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL





1. REMOVE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
(a) Remove the transmission revolution sensor NT.
(1) Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
(2) Remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor.
(3) Remove the O-ring from the transmission revolution sensor.





(b) Remove the transmission revolution sensor SP2.
(1) Disconnect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
(2) Remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor.
(3) Remove the O-ring from the transmission revolution sensor.

INSPECTION





1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR NT
(a) Measure the resistance of the sensor.

Standard resistance:








2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR SP2
(a) Measure the resistance of the sensor.

Standard resistance:





INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR
(a) Install the transmission revolution sensor SP2.
(1) Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission revolution sensor.
(2) Install the transmission revolution sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
(3) Connect the transmission revolution sensor connector.





(b) Install the transmission revolution sensor NT.
(1) Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission revolution sensor.
(2) Install the transmission revolution sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
(3) Connect the transmission revolution sensor connector.
