A960E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NEUTRAL START SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the park/neutral position switch to the manual valve shaft.
(b) Temporarily install the bolt.





(c) Install a new lock washer and the nut.
Torque: 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf)





(d) Temporarily install the control shaft lever.





(e) Turn the control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, and turn it clockwise 2 notches to set it to the N position.





(f) Remove the transmission control shaft lever.





(g) Align the neutral alignment mark line with the switch groove, and tighten the adjusting bolt.
Torque: 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)





(h) Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.





(i) Install the transmission control shaft lever RH with the nut.
Torque: 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)





(j) Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.
2. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION
4. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
5. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
6. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
