Luggage Compartment Door Opener does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU continuously receives the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch ON / OFF signal. When the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch signal is OFF, and the luggage compartment door opener switch is ON, the luggage room junction block activates the luggage compartment door closer, and opens the luggage compartment door.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CLOSER MOTOR)
(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the luggage closer motor operates.

OK:
Luggage compartment door latch release motor is ON / OFF.
OK -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH)
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER




(a) Remove the luggage compartment door closer Removal.
(b) Set the door closer latch to the full latch position.
(c) Apply battery voltage to the door closer connector and check the motor operation.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)




(a) Disconnect the LA junction block connector.
(b) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door opener switch.

OK:
Display changes according to operation of luggage compartment door opener switch.
OK -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH)
NG -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH




(a) Remove the luggage compartment door opener switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENING SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the L3 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the L13 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch.

OK:

OK -- CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (OPERATION)
NG -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH




(a) Remove the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the L83 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the L11 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
10. CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the luggage door opener system is normal.
OK:
Luggage door opener system is normal.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
OK -- END (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
