Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT A/C PRESSURE SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the connector from the A/C pressure sensor.
Inspect pressure switch operation.

(b) Connect the three 1.5 V dry cell batteries positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (+), and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (-). Then connect the voltmeter's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (PR), and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (-). Measure the voltage.
OK:
The voltage changes according to refrigerant pressure, as shown in the graph.
If the voltage is not as specified, replace the A/C pressure sensor.
