3UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1)





(a) Install a new O-ring to the oil control valve.
(b) Install the oil control valve with the bolt.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the oil control valve connector.





(d) Connect the engine wire protector with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)





(a) Install a new O-ring to the oil control valve.
(b) Install the oil control valve with the bolt.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the oil control valve connector.
3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
(a) Connect the air hose and ventilation hose.
(b) Install the bolt and intake air connector pipe with the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)
(c) Tighten the 2 hose clamps.
Torque: 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
(a) Install the cover with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
