Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

AIR CONDITIONING: PRESSURE SWITCH: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK A/C PRESSURE SENSOR

(a) Check the wire harness.





(1) Disconnect the connector from the pressure sensor.

(2) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





(3) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





(b) Check the pressure sensor.





(1) Set the manifold gauge.

(2) Connect the connector to the pressure sensor.

(3) Warm up the engine.

(4) A/C switch is turned ON.

(5) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





(5) If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
