RA62 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. INSPECT MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL
(a) Park the vehicle on a level surface.
(b) Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.
(c) Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.197 in.) of the lowest point of the transmission filler plug opening.
NOTICE:
* Problems may occur if the oil level is too high or low.
* After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.
(d) Check for oil leaks when the oil level is low.
(e) Using SST and, install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.
SST : 09961-01270
with SST - Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
without SST - Torque : 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
* The "with SST" torque value is effective when using SST with a fulcrum length of 200 mm (7.87 in.).
* The "with SST" torque value is effective when using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.).
* The "with SST" torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.
* When adding transmission oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
* An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause problems.
* After adding oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.
