Power Mirror Switch: Testing and Inspection

MIRROR (EXT): OUTER MIRROR SWITCH: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Memory)

(a) Check the switch functions.





(1) For the L position of the mirror select switch:

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

If the result is not as specified replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(2) For the R position of the mirror select switch:

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(b) Check that the LED illuminates.





(1) Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Memory)

(a) Check the switch functions.





(1) For the L position of the mirror select switch:

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(2) For the R position of the mirror select switch:

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

(b) Check retract mirror switch (w/ retractable mirror).

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Check that the LED illuminates.





(1) Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.
