Disassembly





BRAKE (FRONT): FRONT BRAKE: DISASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
Do not remove the disc brake piston and piston seal from the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
* The following procedure is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE CYLINDER BOOT

(a) Place one side of the disc brake pad and wooden plate between the disc brake pistons of the disc brake cylinder assembly.





(b) Using compressed air, gradually push the disc brake piston out slightly from the cylinder.





NOTICE:
Do not push the disc brake piston out more than 12 mm (0.472 in.) from the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

(c) Using a screwdriver, separate the cylinder boot from the front disc brake cylinder assembly.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Remove the cylinder boot from the front disc brake piston.

HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the remaining cylinder boots.

2. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG

(a) Remove the front disc brake bleeder plug cap and front disc brake bleeder plug from the front disc brake cylinder assembly.
