Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Depressurize fuel system by cranking the engine for a minimum of 15 seconds with the electrical connector at the Inertia Switch disconnected, or by using a fuel pressure gauge.
2. Remove push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter.
NOTE: The "flow" arrow direction should be positioned forward and downward to ensure proper flow of fuel through replacement filter.
3. Remove filter from bracket by loosening worm gear mounting clamp enough to allow filter to pass through.
NOTE: Worm gear must be positioned on filter.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Filter:

1. Install filter in bracket, ensuring proper direction of flow. Position fuel filter against tab at lower end of bracket.
2. Install push connect fittings at both ends of filter.
3. Tighten worm gear mounting clamp to 15-25 lb. in. (1.7-2.8 N-m).
4. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
