Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL


1. Locate Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS) located on the top of the transaxle housing.
2. Disconnect sensor harness connector.
3. Remove the retaining nut and control cable assembly from the transaxle assembly.
4. Remove cable retaining clip from cable bracket on transaxle.
5. Remove cable assembly from bracket.
6. Remove two MLPS retaining bolts and remove position sensor.

INSTALLATION


1. Install MLPS and replace retaining bolts.
2. Replace cable assembly into bracket.
3. Install cable retaining clip.
4. Replace the control cable assembly retaining nut.
5. Replace sensor harness connector.
