Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair

EARLY PRODUCTION



1. Remove actuator cable retaining clip from adjuster fitting.
2. Push actuator dust tube out of adjuster fitting attached to throttle cable.
3. Remove two vacuum hoses and electrical connector from servo assembly.
4. Remove two servo to mounting bracket retaining nuts.
5. Remove servo and cable assembly from bracket.
6. Remove two cable housing to servo retaining nuts.
7. Remove cable ball end from servo clip.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque cable housing retaining nuts to 36-53 in lbs.
b. Torque servo to mounting bracket nuts to 45-61 in lbs.
c. Adjust actuator cable as necessary.



LATE PRODUCTION



1. Remove retaining clip from actuator cable adjuster fitting.
2. Push actuator tube out of adjuster fitting attached to throttle cable.
3. Disconnect harness connector at servo, then remove two servo assembly to vehicle attaching nuts.
4. Remove actuator cable cap from servo by depressing cap locking arm and rotating cap counterclockwise.
5. Remove cable ball slug from servo pulley by pushing slug from out of pulley slot.
6. Reverse procedure to install, torque assembly attaching nuts to 45-61 in lbs.
