XB21 - Check Cooling Fan Motor



- Clear continuous memory again. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

- Disconnect cooling fan motor.

- Start engine.

- Turn A/C "ON", wait 15 seconds (but no more than 20 seconds).

- A/C "OFF".

- Engine "OFF".

- Rerun Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

- Is Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 581 present (disregard any other codes)?

Yes -- Go to XB22. XB22 - Check Power to Ground Fan Circuit For Short to Ground

No -- Replace cooling fan motor. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
