EGR Valve: Service and Repair

EGR Valve:






REMOVAL
^ Remove engine appearance cover, air cleaner outlet tube and engine air intake resonator.
^ Remove windshield wiper module assembly.
^ Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve.
^ With a 22mm crowfoot wrench, completely loosen the top EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut from EGR valve.
^ Remove two EGR valve retaining bolts from EGR valve and EGR valve gasket from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
^ Clean intake manifold sealing surface with a plastic-tipped scraper to remove any residual EGR valve gasket material.
^ Position EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube into EGR valve and loosely connect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut to EGR valve.
^ Install new EGR valve gasket and bolts retaining EGR valve to intake manifold. Tighten bolts to 2O-30 Nm (15-22 ft lb).
^ Tighten EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut at EGR valve to 35-45 Nm (26-33 ft lb).
^ Connect vacuum hose to EGR valve.
^ Install windshield wiper module assembly.
^ Install engine appearance cover, air cleaner outlet tube and engine air intake resonator.
