Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Shut engine Off. Depressurize fuel system.

2. Remove push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter.

3. Remove fuel filter from fuel filter bracket by loosening worm gear mounting clamp enough to allow fuel filter to pass through.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the filter in fuel filter bracket, ensuring proper direction of flow as noted earlier. Position fuel filter against tab at lower end of bracket.

NOTE:

- Worm gear clamp must be positioned on fuel filter bracket.

- The flow arrow direction should be positioned forward and downward to ensure proper flow of fuel through replacement fuel filter.

2. Install push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter.

3. Tighten worm gear mounting clamp to 1.7-2.8 Nm (15-25 lb in).

4. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
