Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Toe

After adjusting caster and camber, check the steering wheel spoke position with the front wheels in straight-ahead position. If the spokes are not in their normal position, they can be properly adjusted while toe is being adjusted.
1. Loosen the two clamp bolts on each front wheel spindle tie rod adjusting sleeve.

2. Adjust toe. If the steering wheel spokes are in their normal position, lengthen or shorten both rods equally to obtain correct toe. If the steering wheel spokes are not in their normal position, make the necessary rod adjustments to obtain correct toe and steering wheel spoke alignment.

Sleeve Position:

3. When toe and the steering wheel spoke position are both correct, lubricate front wheel spindle tie rod adjusting sleeves, bolts and nuts. Tighten the clamp bolts on front wheel spindle tie rod adjusting sleeves to 27-30 Nm (20-22 ft. lbs.). The sleeve position should not be changed when the clamp bolts are tightened for proper clamp bolt orientation.
