Interior Lighting Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: The Lighting Control Module (LCM) must be configured upon replacement. Refer to the NGS help screen on the configuration card to program the headlamps on with wipers, Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and Korean vehicle strategy.






1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTI0N: Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.






2. Remove the three screws from the bottom of the instrument panel steering column cover. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.







3. Remove the LCM.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Carefully pull the LCM from instrument panel and disconnect the electrical connectors.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
