Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

Special Tools Recommended

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.







3. Remove the two front Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).
1 Disconnect the connectors.
2 Use the oxygen sensor wrench to remove the heated oxygen sensor.







4. Remove the two connectors from the rear heated oxygen sensor.







5. Use the oxygen sensor wrench to remove the sensor.







INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9L494-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads.
