Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Partially drain the coolant. For additional information, refer to Cooling System.







3. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (ECT sensor).







4. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: If the engine coolant temperature sensor is reused, apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon(R) D8AZ-19554-A meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G350-A2 to the threads.
