Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the selector lever.





3. Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the bracket.

4. Note: It is not necessary to remove the exhaust. Remove the bolts from the heat shield and allow the shield to rest on the exhaust.





5. Remove the bolt at the shift cable bracket.





6. Remove the transmission shift cable and bracket from the transmission.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the shift cable and bucket.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
