Programming and Relearning

Note: When installing a new RCM it must be programmed for the applicable vehicle configuration. Program the RCM using the following procedure.

1. Make sure that all of the SRS components are installed and that the battery is connected.
2. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Key to RUN.
4. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions to configure the RCM for the side air bag option required.
Select:
^ "Airbag Configuration 16" for Town Car with side air bags.
^ "Airbag Configuration 17" for Town Car without side air bags (limousine and hearse only).

5. Key to OFF.
6. Prove out the system.

NOTE: If the prove out reveals Lamp Fault Codes (LFCs), refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Priority Table. Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures
