Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.







3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).







4. Remove the heated oxygen sensors from the exhaust manifolds and exhaust pipe using the special tool.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9LA94-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads prior to installation.
